Some of my favourite photos I have taken were on this trip to Paris. Paris was one of the best cities I have visited. I was aware of the cultural significance of Paris previously, I wasn’t fully aware of the architecture there, apart from the most well-known structures. One of the first times I had decided to take photos whilst on vacation that was not just for personal memories. It allowed me to appreciate the enjoyment I got from taking photos and inspired me to take more.
I had always enjoyed the image, and what it stood for, of the Statue of Liberty and wanted to see the small sculpture within Jardin du Luxembourg. Also seeing the subways and the art/designs within them was a great experience. You cannot visit Paris without seeing the Eiffel Tower, seeming visible from everywhere in the City. Upclose though it feels less a bold mass of metal. You can see the intricacies of the work that went into the design. Close up it makes for great photos in the sun, as the sense of scale and perspective become slightly warped.
Out of time
Only spending a weekend there meant we ran out of time to see within the Louvre which I will return to do one day. I think the weather helped sway our decision to try to stay outdoors as much as possible.
Although I didn’t take my camera there, some of the nightlife was incredible. I would highly recommend partying in Paris, as well as the restaurants. I also got to spend it with my best friend. Making the whole trip extremely memorable and something I will never forget.
