A collection of images of Italy; from a trip to visit friends in Sardinia followed by a stop off in Rome when returning home.
Sardinia
Sardinia is a beautiful place, and I got to see many different areas of it. My friends lived in Cagliari, which is the capital and home to many great restaurants and bars.
We visited the ‘Sette Fratelli‘ (7 Brothers) for part of the trip to the mountainous island. Hiking through this area showed over the islands natural beauty, with rich vegetation and stunning views over the towns below. Although getting lost after the hike, struggling to get the car back up the mountain after hitting a dead-end was less enjoyable but we survived!
Another trip consisted of visiting more northern areas of the island where we kayaked around the coast to a beach not accessible by land. We took in the glorious weather before paddling back to a small town where we started, which was a good work out after being in the sun all day.
Rome
After the trip to Sardinia, I had to fly back via Rome; This allowed me to spend a couple of days in Italy’s capital. Although not enough time to fully take in the city, I did get to see a lot of world-renowned sites. The historical significance of Rome is second to none, be that through the Roman ruins to the city of the Vatican.
Taking images of Italy was an enjoyable experience as I had never visited there previously. In my photography, one thing I like to do is take photos of similar items from across the world. Mundane objects such as road crossing buttons give a comparison of everyday necessities.
