After several years a website can still be functional but look outdated. Pros From The Shows new website design gives a modern look and adds functionality. This includes ticket sales and a shop.
Current Website
I built the old website and branding in 2016. It had pages to show off the accolades of the performers but not much else. We managed sales through Eventbrite. With Eventbrite being separate from the website, it felt disconnected being on an external address. This was similar to selling merchandise, which sold on an alternative domain, through Wix. WordPress was the CMS (Content Management System) on the old site, so it made sense to update on the same system.
Research and Creation of New Website Design
WordPress isn’t necessarily the best CMS but it is the most popular. Offering many options in terms of plugins. This was particularly useful in adding the ticketing system. Having never implemented a ticket system, I spent a lot of time researching. Options included Event Tickets Plus, Tickera and Eventbrite Tickets. All had their merits however Event Tickets Plus won due to its collaboration with WooCommerce, which could sell merchandise.

Maintaining the branding created previously for Pros From The Shows influenced the website design. The main focus was to highlight imagery and videos more, making them larger or full screen. The visuals show what the company provides in workshops, which helps sell the product.
Conclusion
We are happy with the new website, it has worked well for the most part. We resolved some teething issues regards selling tickets. These were bound to happen with it being a new task but we have ironed them out, with it working much smoother now. Covid affected the organisation of workshops throughout 2021. Ticket sales for the rearranged dates sold well. Along with merchandise through the website. I will continue to work with PFTS and look forward to creating new features on the website along with promotional materials.
